I was waiting for got good GPS in long time thought this really would be it but sad it was one of the worst GPS as well…
let me put it this way:
.Blutooth wouks great
.touch screen is ok as well
.looks really nice
BUT whats the point of all this when the GPS is rally bad.
and in the tunnel u will get lost as this gps does
Trffic update never work always said one thing or noghting two line block on such place thats it…
something i would be on diffrent word or stop and car is still mving in the Gps or its on the water.
DON WAST YOU MONEY.
Am WILLING to pay more as long as the GPS works there is no use of bluthooth and other stuff if GPS is not working!

This the worst GPS I tried so far. I have had a chance to try TomTom Go 920, Magellan Maestro 4250, and Garmin Nuvi 660, Mio C720t, and Staple’s own Omnitech. The Sony can’t hold a candle to any one of these when it comes down to navigation. You will regret it if you follow the directions this GPS gives you. The routing engine is simply crazy. I have no idea why it wants to route you through towns and cities while there is a much faster route. The device looks great, text-to-speech adequate but routing is a nightmare. It is simply not up to the task. Moreover, the touch screen is not sensitive enough.
I will avoid this product until Sony irons out the kinks in the routing software.

bad item glass is the worse.. i drop mines from the dashboard landed on my shifter and broke the screen.. sony wants $250 to replace it with a refurbish one…(when i only paid $200 for it new)… bad service.. mines is less than a year old…. nothing they can do… since i lost the receip…my second option is to send it to them to fix ..and tht is $270..ohh yeah including shipping.. bunch of crooks…. i went to store where i bought it.. (tiger direct) and they dont seem to have a copy of the receip.. i guess they were mad because i did not buy the extended warranty

We had high hopes for the SONY NVU83T, but we have returned it after a frustrating three weeks of trying to use it. The routing was often bizarre (what algorithm routes a driver between two destinations in New York State by way of Canada?), the documentation sorely lacking, the GUI not at all intuitive, no AC adapter is included, the battery life is very short, and the suction cup didn’t suction well. The display was bright and clear, but provided only a bare minimum of map data - it would have been helpful to see the names of streets we were approaching - updating after a missed turn was sometimes very slow. In case you are wondering, we did have the 3.0 firmware. I would not recommend this GPS.

I’m very disappointed with Sony’s VERY POOR routing software. I’ve used both TomTom and Garmin which are both way better. Even after upgrading the firmware to Version 5.0 with the 2009 maps this thing will still send you miles out of your way no matter how the Calculation Conditions are set. Too bad Sony just can’t seem to fix the routing software which is the most important reason you buy a GPS in the first place. The Jr. Software Engineer that programmed the routing algorithm needs to go back to school. Shame on you SONY… this could have been a really great product.
