  1. I would like to give it no stars, I recommended a TomTom over a Nuvi to my Father. So he got his 330xl on Tuesday and broke the screen Wednesday trying to get the receiver into the new “improved” mount. I called and Dennis at TomTom told me “straight up” there is nothing we can do and they can’t even fix it. That of course after trolling all my personal data. They offered me a discount on a new unit, thanks alot TomTom. I told them I would wait for the class action lawsuit.

  2. I was offered a TomTom XL330 but what I got was a Canadian XL310.Although newer than the TomTom One XL which cost one hundred dollers new it has less fetures. No SD card slot. The invoice descibes it as a 330. I didnt catch the switch before going out on a road trip. Too late to return it.The friction pad recomended for this unit which I also bought is a poor fit as well.

  3. I bought this GPS because I wanted one that spoke street names but wasn’t too expensive. I read up on this model, and the reviews I real all said it spoke the street names. But it turns out this one actually doesn’t, which was annoying. Also, so far it’s told me to make a few illegal turns. Fortunately, it rerouted me pretty quickly after I passed them, but I wish TomTom would have a better idea what the traffic laws were.

But overall, for $130 it’s not a bad product.

  4. The maps are not correct, even when you correct the information and send it back. I did this and the next time I tried to go the same place to see if it would give me the correct information it was still wrong. The website only wants you to purchase more maps. If I had known this I would not have bought this product.

  5. I have multiple TomTom GPS units. I was VERY disappointed in this one. From the minute it came out of the package I had issue powering the unit on. After weeks of dealing with it, I broke down and took the unit apart. I found some very interesting things. The power switch, is a CHEAP combination of a little plastic lever, pivoting…then pressing down on the actual power switch on the main board of the unit. HORRIBLY poor design. The whole deal, rests on a small little plastic piece of about 1/4”. If it doesnt work perfectly…it won’t power on. It took some modifications. The unit powers on now. But still occasionally has issues. I have purchased 2 other TomTom ONE-XL ‘s I am much more impressed with them.
